شنبه ۱۸دی۱۴۰۴ در اعتراضات «دزفول» سرش هدف سلاح ساچمه ای نیروهای مسلح جمهوری اسلامی قرار گرفت. جمعه ۱۹دی هم به خیابان آمد. این بار مامور تک تیرانداز جمهوری اسلامی که روی زمین دراز کشیده بود احمد را با گلوله کشت. احمد متاهل بود. خانواده اش روزها در بیمارستان ها به دنبالش گشتند. در نهایت چهارشنبه ۲۴دی به خانواده اش تصویری نشان دادند و خواستند از روی لباس هایش او را شناسایی کنند. پدرش به خاطر آورد که او هنگام خروج از خانه تسبیح او را به گردن انداخت و کلید خانه را به آن آویخت. از روی همان تسبیح شناسایی اش کرد. تیر به پهلوی احمد عشیری اصابت کرده بود. خانواده احمد او را در شرایطی بسیار امنیتی ۲۵دی در «بهشت آباد» دزفول در قبری که پیشتر برادر ۷ساله او آرمیده بود به خاک سپردند. همسرش برای برگزاری چهلمین روز درگذشت او به بازداشت تهدید شد مشروط بر اینکه مراسم در سکوت برگزار شود.

On Saturday 8 January 2026 during the protests in Dezful his head was targeted by the pellet weapons of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic. The next day Friday 9 January he returned to the streets. This time a sniper from the Islamic Republic—lying on the ground—shot and killed Ahmad with a live bullet. Ahmad was married.
His family searched for him for days in hospitals. Finally on Wednesday 14 January authorities showed the family a picture and asked them to identify him by his clothes. His father remembered that when Ahmad left the house he had placed his fathers prayer beads tasbih around his neck and hung the house key on it. He recognized him by that tasbih.
The bullet had struck Ahmad Ashiri in the side. Under heavy security conditions his family buried him on 15 January in Beheshtabad Cemetery in Dezful in a grave where his 7yearold brother had previously been laid to rest.
His wife was threatened with arrest over holding the 40thday memorial ceremony unless it was conducted quietly.
