According to the report of Human Rights in Iran, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, some of the political prisoners imprisoned in Orumiyeh Central Prison located in West Azarbaijan Province were released after serving his imprisonment.

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Kamran Ghasemi, a political prisoner held in Urmia Central Prison in West Azerbaijan Province, was released after serving his sentence.

Kamran Ghasemi was tried in the winter of 2019 by Judge Sheikhloo, head of Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia, and in February of the same year, he was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties."

Kamran Ghasemi was arrested by security forces in West Azerbaijan Province on October 8, 2019, and after undergoing interrogation and being formally charged during the interrogation stage, he was transferred to Urmia Central Prison.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز شنبه ۱۴ مهر ماه ۱۴۰۳، کامران قاسمی از زندانیان سیاسی محبوس در زندان مرکزی ارومیه واقع در استان آذربایجان غربی، پس از تحمل حبس تعزیری خود، آزاد شد.

کامران، قاسمی، در زمستان ۱۳۹۸، توسط قاضی شیخلو ـ رئیس شعبه ۲دادگاه انقلاب ارومیه، محاکمه و در بهمن ماه همان سال، از بابت اتهام «عضویت در یکی از احزاب کرد مخالف نظام» به به تحمل ۵ سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شده بود.

کامران قاسمی، در تاریخ ۱۶ مهر ماه ۱۳۹۸، توسط نیروهای امنیتی در استان آذربایجان غربی، دستگیر و پس از طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام در مرحله بازجویی، به زندان مرکزی ارومیه منتقل شده بود.
