Ayoub Aghliani

According to news sources, on 23 August 2023, Ayoub Aghliani from Oshnavieh was detained after being summoned to the Criminal Enforcement Branch of the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Oshnavieh. He was then transferred to the prison in Naqadeh to serve his prison sentence.

Ayoub Aghliani was initially arrested by security forces on 7 October 2022 during nationwide protests and taken to the central detention centre of the Urmia Intelligence Office. After undergoing interrogation and being charged at the Urmia General and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, he was transferred to the central prison in Urmia. On 26 June 2023, after completing the interrogation process and receiving the initial verdict, he was released on bail.

In February 2023, Ayoub Aghliani was tried by Branch 106 of the Criminal Court 2 in Urmia on charges of damaging public property and disturbing public order and peace. He was sentenced to one year and five months of imprisonment.

Additionally, in the second part of his legal case, on 11 March 2023, he was sentenced by Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia to four years of imprisonment for assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security, and another four years for participating in the intentional burning of public property.

On 15 January 2023, in a separate case, Ayoub Aghliani was tried by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court 2 in Oshnavieh on charges of damaging and burning public property and disturbing public order. He was sentenced to a total of ten years and six months of imprisonment and 74 lashes.
