On Tuesday, August 21, 2023, Mojgan Eilanlou, a documentary filmmaker and civil activist living in Tehran, was released after undergoing interrogations and threats of prosecution, with a warrant issued to stop her pursuit.
According to the Iran Watch website: "The initial charges attributed to Mojgan Eilanlou (propaganda activities against the regime) and (filmmaking without permission) were mentioned, but due to the lack of any evidence against her, this documentary filmmaker and women's rights activist was released today."
It should be noted that Mojgan Eilanlou was arrested on August 20, 2023, after being summoned by phone to the Tehran Security Police, and was then transferred to the interrogation branch at the Tehran District 33 Courthouse, and was detained in the security ward of Evin Prison with an arrest warrant.
Mojgan Eilanlou was previously arrested on October 18, 2022, by the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence agents at her home after searching and confiscating some of her electronic personal belongings. She was imprisoned in solitary confinement for 40 days in Ward 2 of the security organ located in Evin Prison, then transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison, and 14 days later, she was returned to Evin Prison. On December 6, 2022, she was tried by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court for charges of "assembly and collusion and committing a crime against internal and external security," "propaganda activities against the regime," "encouraging people to corruption and obscenity," and "disrupting public order and tranquility," presided over by Iman Afshari. In total, she was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, 74 lashes, and several other complementary punishments. However, after her case was included in the judicial power's (pardon) circular, she was released from Evin Prison in February 2023.
عصر امروز دوشنبه ۳۰ مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، مژگان ایلانلو، مستندساز و فعال مدنی، ساکن تهران، پس از طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تهدید به پرونده سازی قضایی، با صدور قرار منع تعقیب، آزاد شد.
براساس اعلام وبسایت دیدبان ایران:”اتهام اولیه منتسب شده به مژگان ایلانلو (فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام) و (فعالیت فیلم سازی بدون مجوز) عنوان شده بود که با توجه به فقدان سند و مدرکی بر علیه وی، این مستندساز و فعال حقوق زنان، امروز آزاد شد.”
لازم به اشاره است، مژگان ایلانلو، در تاریخ ۲۹ مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، پس از احضار تلفنی به پلیس امنیت تهران، بازداشت و سپس به شعبه بازپرسی در دادسرای ناحیه ۳۳ تهران، منتقل و با صدور قرار بازداشت به بند امنیتی زندان اوین منتقل شده بود.
مژگان ایلانلو، پیشتر هم در تاریخ ۲۶ مهر ماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط ماموران اطلاعات سپاه پاسداران در منزل شخصی خود پس از تفتیش و توقیف برخی لوازم شخصی الکترونیکی اش بازداشت و پس از انتقال به بند۲الف آن ارگان امنیتی واقع در زندان اوین به مدت ۴۰ روز در سلول انفرادی محبوس و پس از انتقال به زندان قرچک ورامین سپس ۱۴ روز بعد مجددا به زندان اوین بازگردانده شد و در تاریخ ۱۵ آذر ماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط شعبه ۲۶ دادگاه انقلاب تهران از بابت اتهامات (اجتماع و تبانی و ارتکاب جرم بر ضد امنیت داخلی و خارجی)، (فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام)، (تشویق مردم به فساد و فحشا) و (اخلال در نظم و آسایش عمومی)، به ریاست ایمان افشاری محاکمه و در مجموع به تحمل ۱۰ سال حبس تعزیری، ۷۴ضربه شلاق و چندین فقره مجازات تکمیلی دیگر محکوم شد اما پس از مشمول شدن پرونده قضایی وی در بخشنامه (عفو) قوه قضائیه، اوار بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۱، از زندان اوین آزاد شده بود.
