On 8 November 2024, Yasin Shahbakhsh was violently arrested in Zahedan while travelling to Bandar Abbas for work. He was accompanied by his stepbrother, Kamran Etemadzadeh. Kamran has been transferred to a juvenile correctional facility, whereas Yasin is being held in the security ward of Zahedan prison.
