Masoud Rezaei Nou was fatally shot while assisting the injured. Reports indicate that government forces prevented his family from approaching and stood over his body to hinder aid efforts. Masoud Rezaei Nou was an athlete involved in bodybuilding, gymnastics, parkour, free running, and ninjutsu, and he taught martial arts to children and teenagers.
Masoud Rezaei Nou was shot near Mesbah Square around 10 p.m. It has been reported that a bullet struck his right leg, causing severe bleeding, and he passed away approximately one hour after being transferred to the hospital. He had won several national gold medals and an Asian title in jujitsu.
Reports suggest that security officers did not return his body to his family and intended to bury him on 12 January without their presence. His family learned of this through a contact at Behesht-e Sakineh and went to the location. With the presence of family and relatives, they were able to retrieve the body.

مسعود رضایی نو در حوالی ساعت ۱۰ شب در چهارراه مصباح تیر خورد. گزارش شده است که گلوله ای که به پای راست او شلیک شد، موجب خونریزی شدید شد و او حدود یک ساعت پس از انتقال به بیمارستان جان باخت. او در رشته جوجیتسو چندین مدال طلای کشور و یک مقام آسیایی کسب کرده بود.
گزارش ها نشان می دهند که ماموران امنیتی جنازه او را به خانواده اش تحویل ندادند و تصمیم داشتند او را در 22 دی بدون حضور خانواده دفن کنند. خانواده او از طریق آشنایی در بهشت سکینه متوجه این موضوع شدند و به محل رفتند. با حضور خانواده و بستگان در محل، توانستند جنازه را تحویل بگیرند.
