According to reports from human rights organizations in Iran, Mohammad Faraji, a resident of the city of Boukan in West Azerbaijan Province, has been held in Boukan Prison without a clear legal status since 6 January 2024.
He was arrested by security forces in Boukan on 21 February 2023. After being transferred to the central detention facility of the Intelligence Department in Urmia and undergoing interrogation, the charges against him were communicated on 9 June 2023 at the investigative branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Urmia, after which he was moved to Boukan Central Prison.

وی در تاریخ ۲ اسفند ماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط نیروهای امنیتی در شهرستان بوکان دستگیر شد. پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه مرکزی اداره کل اطلاعات استان آذربایجان غربی در شهر ارومیه و طی مراحل بازجویی، در تاریخ ۲۰ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، اتهامات وی در شعبه بازپرسی دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب ارومیه تفهیم و سپس به زندان مرکزی بوکان منتقل شد.
