The Coordination Council of Iranian Teachers' Trade Associations has announced that a 14-month prison sentence has been issued for Aria Noorani, an official primary school teacher in the city of Maneh, North Khorasan Province. Reports indicate that Aria Noorani was arrested during protests on 8 and 9 January and was held in temporary detention for approximately two weeks. He was subsequently released on bail pending the completion of judicial proceedings. According to the report, following a court session and the review of the case, the teacher has been sentenced to 14 months in prison.
