Akbar Hasanpour passed away on the night of 9 January 2026 in Gohardasht, Karaj. He went out alone around 7:30 PM and did not allow his spouse to accompany him. Despite a friend being unable to join him due to a relative being shot, he went out alone and did not return.
After a two-day search, his body was found in the Behesht Sakineh morgue in Karaj. He had been shot twice in the side. Akbar Hasanpour had recently retired 20 days prior and had not yet received his first pension payment.
