Sepehr Shirani, a 19-year-old first-year architecture student at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan, and the youngest member of his family from the city of Fanuj, residing in Zahedan, has been identified by Hal Vash.
According to reliable sources, Sepehr left his home around 4 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, and his phone was turned off. Hours later, his family learned through persistent inquiries that Sepehr had been arrested by the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence service and were told, "He will be released after a few questions." However, by the morning of Thursday, February 1, his lifeless body was found on the rooftop of the family's residence, with the family having no information about his release or return.
Sources close to the family reported that Sepehr had been shot in the head, and there were signs of torture on his body, including extensive bruising, lash marks, and a broken right arm. Despite this evidence, the prosecutor of Zahedan denied that Sepehr had been detained by the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence and attempted to label his death as "suicide," a claim that contradicts local testimonies, physical evidence, and family statements.
It was reported that the handover of Sepehr's body to the family was conditioned on their silence regarding the circumstances of his arrest and death. Sepehr's body was buried in his hometown of Fanuj on Friday, February 2, with a large presence of people, civil activists, and relatives. Security forces were present at the funeral, and some young people chanted protest slogans. The family has faced ongoing pressure and threats from security agencies in the days following the burial.
In response to this case, Molavi Abdolhamid Ismaeelzahi, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, called for government transparency regarding the circumstances of Sepehr Shirani's death during his Friday sermon, emphasizing that the public has the right to know how this young student lost his life.

«سپهر شیرانی» ۱۹ ساله دانشجوی ترم اول رشته معماری دانشگاه سیستان و بلوچستان فرزند دکتر علی دندان پزشک کوچک ترین عضو خانواده اهل شهرستان فنوج و ساکن زاهدان توسط حال وش احراز شده است.
بر اساس اطلاعات منابع موثق حال وش سپهر عصر سه شنبه ۱۰ بهمن ۱۴۰۲ حوالی ساعت ۴ بعدازظهر از منزل خارج شد و تلفن همراهش خاموش گردید. ساعاتی بعد خانواده او با پیگیری های مکرر مطلع شدند که سپهر توسط اطلاعات سپاه بازداشت شده و به آن ها گفته شده بود «پس از چند سوال آزاد خواهد شد». با این حال بامداد پنج شنبه ۱۲ بهمن پیکر بی جان او در پشت بام محل سکونت خانواده پیدا شد؛ در حالی که خانواده هیچ اطلاعی از آزادی انتقال یا بازگشت او نداشتند.

به گفته منابع حال وش تحویل پیکر سپهر به خانواده مشروط به سکوت اجباری درباره نحوه بازداشت و جان باختن او بوده و پیکر سپهر با حضور گسترده مردم فعالان مدنی و بستگانش در زادگاهش فنوج در روز جمعه ۱۳ بهمن به خاک سپرده شد. در مراسم تدفین ماموران امنیتی حضور داشتند و تعدادی از جوانان شعارهای اعتراضی سر دادند. خانواده در روزهای پس از خاکسپاری نیز تحت فشار و تهدید مستمر نهادهای امنیتی قرار گرفته اند.
در واکنش به این پرونده مولوی عبدالحمید اسماعیل زهی امام جمعه زاهدان در خطبه های نماز جمعه خواستار شفاف سازی دستگاه های حکومتی درباره چگونگی کشته شدن سپهر شیرانی شد و تاکید کرد که افکار عمومی حق دارد بداند این دانشجوی جوان چگونه جان خود را از دست داده است.
