عسگر قاسمی متولد ۱۳۴۶ در شهر محمدیار نزدیک نقده آذربایجان غربی بود. او روز ۴ خرداد ۱۳۸۵ در جریان اعتراض به کاریکاتور روزنامه ایران با شلیک ماموران انتظامی و لباس شخصیها از بالای فرمانداری نقده کشته شد و پیکرش در شرایط امنیتی در محمدیار خاکسپاری شد.
