"Aida Rostami" was a doctor from Ekbatan who went missing on December 12, 2022, and her body was handed over to her family the next day with claims of a car accident.
The family of this doctor observed signs of torture on her body and face and did not accept that her death was due to a car accident. They confirmed that the eye of the doctor, who was treating injured protesters during the nationwide protests in the western regions of Tehran, especially the Ekbatan neighborhood, had been removed and stitched.
Media affiliated with the Islamic Republic, after broadcasting the news of Rostami's death, claimed that this doctor had not been tortured and had thrown herself off a pedestrian bridge.
The Judiciary News Agency claimed that after an argument with an individual, the deceased suddenly threw herself off the pedestrian bridge; a claim that has been rejected by Rostami's family and acquaintances.
