Farhang Ayvazi, an environmental activist from the village of Tangisar near Sanandaj, is serving the remainder of his 45-month prison sentence under electronic monitoring outside of prison after completing one year of his term.
Reports indicate that on 5 November 2023, Farhang Ayvazi was released from Sanandaj Central Prison with an electronic monitoring bracelet after serving one year and four days of his 45-month sentence.
On 1 November 2022, Farhang Ayvazi was arrested after being summoned to the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court's enforcement office and was transferred to the city's central prison to serve his sentence.
In the summer of 2022, this environmental activist was sentenced by the First Branch of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court to five years in prison for alleged membership and collaboration with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, and to one year in prison for alleged propaganda against the Islamic Republic. The sentence was later reduced to 45 months of imprisonment and 15 months of suspended imprisonment after an appeal.
Farhang Ayvazi had been arrested at his home by Sanandaj Intelligence Department forces on 12 December 2021 and was temporarily released on bail of 250 million tomans on 23 January 2022, after 42 days of detention, pending the completion of legal proceedings.
فرهنگ عیوضی، فعال زیست محیطی اهل روستای تنگیسر از توابع سنندج، پس از گذراندن یک سال از دوره حبس ۴۵ ماهه خود، باقی مانده محکومیتش را تحت نظارت سامانه الکترونیکی در خارج از زندان می گذراند.
گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که در ۱۴ آبان ۱۴۰۲، فرهنگ عیوضی، فعال زیست محیطی، پس از گذراندن یک سال و چهار روز از محکومیت ۴۵ ماهه، با پابند الکترونیکی مراقبتی از زندان مرکزی سنندج آزاد شد.
فرهنگ عیوضی در ۱۰ آبان ۱۴۰۱، پس از احضار به اجرای احکام دادگاه انقلاب سنندج، بازداشت و برای اجرای حکم حبس به زندان مرکزی این شهر منتقل شد.
این فعال زیست محیطی در تابستان ۱۴۰۱، توسط شعبه یکم دادگاه انقلاب سنندج به اتهام عضویت و همکاری با حزب دمکرات کردستان ایران به تحمل ۵ سال حبس و به اتهام تبلیغ علیه جمهوری اسلامی به یک سال زندان محکوم شد. این حکم پس از تسلیم به رای به ۴۵ ماه حبس تعزیری و ۱۵ ماه زندان تعلیقی کاهش یافت.
فرهنگ عیوضی در ۲۱ آذر ۱۴۰۰، توسط نیروهای اداره اطلاعات سنندج در منزل بازداشت شده بود و در ۳ بهمن ۱۴۰۰، پس از ۴۲ روز بازداشت با وثیقه ۲۵۰ میلیون تومانی و موقتاً از بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات سنندج تا اتمام مراحل دادرسی آزاد شده بود.
