Following the recitation of Kurdish Kermanji poetry by Kazhal Salehi at several cultural events, it has been reported that intelligence agency forces raided her family's home but were unable to arrest her. Instead, they detained her father, Araz Salehi.
According to received reports, on 14 July 2025, Araz Salehi, the father of Kazhal Salehi from the village of Naveh in Bojnord, was arrested at his home following a raid by intelligence agency forces and was taken to an undisclosed location. The forces attempted to arrest Kazhal Salehi but were unsuccessful, leading to the arrest of her father instead.
Sources have indicated that during the raid, the intelligence agency forces searched the family's home, confiscated mobile phones and electronic equipment belonging to family members, and informed them that all family members must report to the intelligence agency for interrogation procedures.

بر اساس گزارش های رسیده، در تاریخ 24 تیر 1404، آراز صالحی، پدر کژال صالحی از روستای ناوه در بجنورد، با هجوم نیروهای اداره اطلاعات در منزل خود بازداشت و به مکان نامعلومی منتقل شد. نیروهای اداره اطلاعات برای بازداشت کژال صالحی به منزل آنان هجوم بردند، اما موفق به بازداشت وی نشدند و پدرش را بازداشت کردند.
به گفته منابع مطلع، نیروهای اداره اطلاعات ضمن تفتیش منزل این خانواده، تلفن های همراه و تجهیزات الکترونیکی متعلق به اعضای خانواده را ضبط کرده و به آنان اعلام کرده اند که کلیه اعضای خانواده باید برای انجام مراحل بازجویی به اداره اطلاعات مراجعه کنند.
