Mohammadjavad Rahimian

Mohammad Javad Rahimian was one of the individuals killed on 9 January 2026 at the Hafez Zarafshan intersection in Eslamshahr. Reports indicate that he had participated in street protests in the days leading up to this date, despite having been injured in the leg, back, and head by pellet shots.

Mohammad Javad Rahimian was an IT engineer. It has been stated that he had a good life and was well-regarded. On 9 January 2026, despite his previous injuries, he joined the protests with his friends and attempted to protect the women and girls present at the gathering.

Eyewitnesses reported that officers shot Mohammad Javad Rahimian in the heart from close range. A friend transported him to Imam Zaman Hospital in Eslamshahr, but he succumbed to severe bleeding on the way.

After his death was confirmed at the hospital, his friends informed his family. His body was transferred to Kahrizak and, after three days, was released on 12 January 2026 upon the provision of three documents as a guarantee and the payment of 120 million tomans.

The family of Mohammad Javad Rahimian faced pressure and threats regarding the funeral, which was conducted in 30 minutes. He was buried in section 27 of Dar al-Salam in Eslamshahr. Reports suggest that sections 27 and 28 of Dar al-Salam in Eslamshahr have been designated for the burial of those killed in the January 2026 protests and are not located in the main cemetery area.
