Yuhanna Mirpadiab, a resident of Rasht, was a protesting firefighter who decided not to go to work on Thursday, January 8, 2026, and joined the protesters in the "Municipality" area of Rasht. Yuhanna was killed right in the middle of the Municipality, near the neighborhood where he grew up. An Islamic Republic officer aimed at his head and shot, killing the firefighter.
Thursday, January 8, the first night of the Rasht call for protests, was also tense. Protesters began gathering gradually before the official start time of the protests at 8 PM. The "Municipality" area, like previous protests, was one of the predetermined locations for demonstrations. Yuhanna was out around 7 PM, but not as a firefighter, as a protester.
It is reported that Yuhanna was targeted and shot dead in the Municipality area around 8:30 PM. His body was left on the ground for some time.

یوحنا میرپادیاب اهل رشت است. آتش نشان معترضی که تصمیم گرفت پنج شنبه ۱۸دی۱۴۰۴ به سرکار نرود و در منطقه «شهرداری» رشت به مردم معترض در اعتراضات بپیوندد. یوحنا را همان وسط شهرداری کشتند همان حوالی محله ای که در آن بزرگ شده بود. مامور جمهوری اسلامی سرش را هدف گلوله قرار داد و شلیک کرد و یک آتش نشان را کشت.
پنج شنبه ۱۸دی نخستین شب فراخوان رشت هم ملتهب بود. معترضان پیش از شروع ساعت اعتراضات یعنی ۸ شب اندک اندک جمع می شدند. منطقه «شهرداری» هم مثل اعتراضات پیشین یکی از مناطق از پیش تعیین شده برای اعتراضات بود. یوحنا از حوالی ساعت ۷ شب بیرون بود اما نه به عنوان آتش نشان بلکه معترض.
می گویند که یوحنا را در همان منطقه شهرداری حوالی ساعت ۲۰:۳۰ هدف گرفتند و با گلوله کشتند. پیکرش مدتی روی زمین رها شده بود.
