Omid Molaei 24 originally from Sabzevar and residing in Tehran was injured by live ammunition during protests in Tehran on January 8 2026.
According to available information he was struck by a gunshot wound to the neck during the events. After approximately two weeks of medical complications resulting from the injury he died.
Omid Molaei was known as a graffiti artist in Tehran.
A fortiethday memorial ceremony for him was held in Sabzevar on February 26 2026 which coincided with what would have been his 25th birthday. Reports indicate that family members and local residents gathered at his gravesite to commemorate his memory
