مهراد حیدری ۳۱ ساله شامگاه ۱۸ دی ماه حوالی ساعت ۲۰:۳۰ در فلکه پنجم فردیس کرج هدف شلیک مستقیم قرار گرفت. بنا بر اطلاعات دریافتی گلوله ای جنگی از پشت به او اصابت کرد؛ تیر از ناحیه کمر وارد و از شکم خارج شد. او در آغوش همسرش جان باخت.
نزدیکانش می گویند برای جلوگیری از انتقال پیکر توسط ماموران تا صبح پیکر او را در خودرو نگه داشتند. همچنین به خانواده اعلام شده که امکان دفن در بهشت زهرا یا بهشت سکینه وجود ندارد و باید در «بهشت علی» اشتهارد به خاک سپرده شود؛ آرامستانی که گفته می شود پیکر برخی دیگر از جان باختگان کرج و فردیس نیز در آن دفن شده است.
به گفته خانواده حتی در انتخاب واژه های سنگ مزار نیز با محدودیت مواجه شده اند. آن ها می گویند بر سر استفاده از تعبیر «شهید وطن» مخالفت شده و ناچار روی کلمه «وطن» یک پرنده حکاکی شده است.

shot to death in Fardis-Karaj
Mehrad Heidari, 31, was shot directly on the evening of January 8 around 8:30 PM at the Fifth Square of Fardis, Karaj. According to received information, a live bullet hit him from behind; it entered through his back and exited through his abdomen. He died in his wife's arms.
His relatives stated that to prevent the body from being taken by officials, they kept it in a car until morning. The family was also informed that burial in Behesht Zahra or Behesht Sakineh is not possible, and the burial must take place in "Behesht Ali" in Eshtehard, a cemetery where it is said that the bodies of some other victims from Karaj and Fardis have also been buried.
The family reported facing restrictions even in choosing the words for the gravestone. They mentioned that the use of the term "Martyr of the Homeland" was opposed, and they had to engrave a bird over the word "Homeland."
