Mohsen Salahi and Mahsa Amirliravai graduated with master's degrees from Ryerson University in Toronto. They worked as educators and began teaching engineering sciences at Sault College in Toronto after completing their studies. On 8 January 2020, they were passengers on flight PS752, returning to Canada, when they, along with other passengers and crew members, were killed by the firing of two missiles.
