Homayoun Eftekhariyan Nia, a 25-year-old operating room technician residing in Tehran, along with two other doctors, Behnam Ohadi and Yaser Rahmani Rad, traveled to Kurdistan on November 30, 2022, to provide free medical visits and treatment to those in need. On December 4, 2022, he was arrested by the intelligence forces of Mahabad.
According to reports, these three doctors were held incommunicado in an unknown location for several weeks and were released on bail in February 2023.

بنا به گزارشات این سه پزشک که تا چند هفته در بیخبری و در مکان نامعلومی در بازداشت بودند، در بهمن 1401 با قرار وثیقه آزاد شدند.
