Rahman Tabesh was initially arrested by security forces on 10 Dey 1403 and transferred to prison after interrogation. However, he was released on bail on 29 Bahman 1403. During the judicial process, he was sentenced to one year and four months in prison for alleged membership in a Kurdish opposition party.

پیشتر، در تاریخ 2 مرداد 1399، رحمان تابش توسط نیروهای امنیتی دستگیر و پس از بازجویی و تفهیم اتهام، در تاریخ 4 مهر 1399 با تودیع وثیقه به طور موقت آزاد شده بود. در مراحل دادرسی، وی به اتهام عضویت در یکی از احزاب کرد اپوزیسیون و تبلیغ علیه نظام به ۴ سال و ۳ ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم شد.
