Hossein Jafari, who was affected by the nationwide protests in 2022 and was a political prisoner in 2023 and 2024, experienced severe psychological harm following prolonged interrogations and solitary confinement in Kerman Prison. He attempted to take his own life as a result.
After this attempt, he was hospitalised for three months in a specialised psychiatric care facility. Despite medical assessments and a certificate indicating his inability to endure imprisonment, he was discharged from the hospital without medical clearance on 26 January 2026 and transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. Since his transfer, this political prisoner has been deprived of access to medical services.
حسین جعفری، از آسیب دیدگان خیزش سراسری ۱۴۰۱ و زندانی سیاسی در سال های ۱۴۰۲ و ۱۴۰۳، در پی بازجویی های طولانی مدت و نگهداری در سلول انفرادی در زندان کرمان، دچار آسیب های شدید روحی شده و اقدام به خودکشی کرد.
وی پس از این اقدام، به مدت سه ماه در بیمارستان ویژه مراقبت های روانی بستری بود. با وجود تشخیص پزشکان و صدور گواهی مبنی بر عدم توانایی تحمل حبس، در تاریخ ۶ بهمن ۱۴۰۴، بدون مجوز پزشکی از بیمارستان ترخیص و به زندان قزلحصار کرج منتقل شد. این زندانی سیاسی پس از انتقال، از دسترسی به خدمات درمانی محروم مانده است.
