Masoumeh Azhdanlou, born in 1959 in Tehran into a politically active family, was the younger sister of Maryam Rajavi (Azhdanlou). She pursued her studies at the Iran University of Science and Technology in 1977 and became involved with the student section of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran following the revolution.
On 2 April 1982, Masoumeh Azhdanlou was arrested while pregnant. During the arrest, she was shot four times and taken into custody while unconscious. According to the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran's website, on the same day, members of the Revolutionary Guards attacked the location where Masoumeh Azhdanlou and her husband, Masoud Izadkhah, were staying. Her husband was killed, and she was shot in the jaw and hand, leading to her unconscious capture by the Revolutionary Guards. She was held in Evin Prison for six months, where she endured severe torture. It was reported that due to the intensity of the torture, she suffered a miscarriage and lost the ability to walk unaided and speak clearly. Her jaw was not treated, leaving her unable to eat properly and in a weakened state, experiencing significant pain without access to pain relief.
It was reported that Lajevardi personally interrogated and tortured her to force a television interview. Ultimately, on 29 September 1982, she was executed by firing squad in Evin Prison alongside Shahla Hariri Motlagh and Nadia Kaviani.
معصومه عضدانلو متولد ۱۳۳۸ در تهران در خانواده ای سیاسی به دنیا آمد او خواهر کوچک مریم رجوی ( عضدانلو ) بود.
او در سال ۱۳۵۶ در دانشگاه علم و صنعت به تحصیل پرداخت و پس از انقلاب در بخش دانشجویی سازمان مجاهدین خلق بود.
روز ۱۳ فروردین ۱۳۶۱ دستگیر شد در حالیکه باردار بود او مورد اصابت ۴ گلوله قرار گرفت و در بیهوشی دستگیر شد و در زیر شکنجه سقط جنین کرد ...
به نوشته سایت سازمان مجاهدین خلق، روز ١٣ فروردین ١٣٦١ در حمله پاسداران به محلی که خانم معصومه قجرعضدانلو و همسرش مسعود ایزد خواه مستقر بودند، همسرش کشته و خود او با اصابت گلوله به فک و دستش بیهوش و توسط پاسداران دستگیر شد. وی مدت شش ماه در زندان اوین تحت شکنجه های شدید بود. این سایت به نقل ازهمبندان او می نویسد "بر اثر شدت شكنجه سقط جنین کرد و خود وی نیز دیگر قادر به راه رفتن روی پای خود نبود و به سختی تكلم می كرد. آنها فك معصومه را معالجه نكردند و او تا آخر نمی توانست چیزی بخورد و بسیار ضعیف شده بود، بسیار درد می كشید وحتی قرص مسكن هم به او نمی دادند".
لاجوردی شخصا او را بازجویی و شکنجه میکرد تا از او مصاحبه تلویزیونی بگیرد.
سرانجام در هفتم مهر ۱۳۶۱ به همراه شهلا حریری مطلق و نادیا کاویانی در زندان اوین تیرباران شد.
