On the evening of 8 January 2026, Abbas Maleki from Karaj was shot from behind by forces in Marlik, Karaj. His body was buried on 15 January 2026.
Abbas owned a small falafel shop and was known for assisting people by providing free food and financial aid to those in need. He was also a poet and had been a student of the late Afshin Yadollahi.
