Mohammad Shakermi Chegeni was a resident of the village of Cham Murt, one of the villages in the vicinity of Khorramabad.
Mohammad Chegeni Shakermi was shot and wounded by direct fire from government security forces in Khorramabad, Lorestan, during public protests on 8 January 2026. He died the following morning, 9 January 2026.
Mohammad's family reportedly paid 500 million to retrieve his body. He was buried that same night in the cemetery of his home village, located two villages away from the village of Nika Shakarami.
