سهیل کریمی در شب 19 دی 1404 در خیابان مورد ضرب و جرح قرار گرفته و بدن زخمی او را دزدیدند. خانواده موفق به پیدا کردن نام او بین کشته ها یا بازداشت شدگان نشدند.
دوست او ماجرای ربودن او را به رسانه ها چنین توضیح داده است :
"شب ۱۹ دی مامورا مارو فراری دادن تو کوچه داشتیم
در می رفتیم من و سهیل رفیقم بودیم جلوتر از ما
یه دختر هم داشت فرار می کرد یکم جلوتر رسیدیم
دیدم دوتا بسیجی با لگد دختره رو دارن می زنن
مامورا هم داشتن از پشت با موتور میومدن من
با چند نفر دیگه جدا شدیم سهیل دوید سمت اون
دوتا بسیجی داد زد به دختره گفت فرار کن دختر
رفت اما سهیل انقدر با باتوم و قمه به سر و بدنش
ضربه زدن دیدم بی هوش شد تنهایی هم نمی
تونستم نجاتش بدم بردنش خواهش می کنم
صداش باشین مادرش سکته کرده هست فلجه.
پدرش فوت کرده تک فرزنده. مستاجر بودن سهیل
خرجش خونشون بود"
On the night of January 9, 2026, Soheil Karimi was beaten on the street, and his injured body was taken away. His family was unable to find his name among the dead or detained.
A friend recounted the incident to the media as follows:
"On the night of January 9, the officers forced us to flee into an alley. We were running away; Soheil and I were together. Ahead of us, a girl was also running. When we reached a little further, I saw two Basij members kicking the girl. Officers were approaching from behind on motorcycles. I separated from the others, and Soheil ran towards those two Basij members. He shouted at the girl to run away. The girl escaped, but Soheil was struck on the head and body with batons and machetes until he lost consciousness. I couldn't save him alone, and they took him away. Please be his voice. His mother has suffered a stroke and is paralyzed. His father has passed away. He was an only child. Soheil was the breadwinner for their rented household."
