Majid Sharif, an Iranian writer and translator, disappeared in Tehran on 19 November 1998. His body was discovered on a street six days later. He was known for his contributions to the monthly publication Iran-e-Farda and was one of the victims of the chain murders.
During the investigation into the chain murders, only the names of Dariush Forouhar, Parvaneh Eskandari, Mohammad Mokhtari, and Mohammad Jafar Pouyandeh were officially acknowledged. The judiciary of the Islamic Republic did not include Majid Sharif and Pirouz Davani among the victims of these murders. However, in the summer of 2021, the newspaper Kayhan, under the management of Hossein Shariatmadari, acknowledged after 23 years of denial that the murder of Majid Sharif was part of the chain murders.
مجید شریف نویسنده دگراندیش و مترجم ایرانی بود که در ۲۸ آبان ۱۳۷۷ در تهران ناپدید شد و پس از شش روز، جنازه اش در خیابان پیدا شد. وی از نویسندگان ماه نامه ایران فردا بود. وی از قربانیان قتل های زنچیره ای بود.
در جریان رسیدگی به پرونده قتل های زنجیره ای تنها نام داریوش فروهر، پروانه اسکندری، محمد مختاری و محمد جعفر پوینده به صورت رسمی مطرح شد و قوه قضائیه جمهوری اسلامی نام مجید شریف و پیروز دوانی را در شمار قربانیان قتل های زنجیره ای قرار نداد. روزنامه کیهان تحت مدیریت حسین شریعتمداری؛ در تابستان ۱۴۰۰ پس از ۲۳ سال انکار قتل مجید شریف اعلام کرد که قتل مجید شریف بخشی از قتل های زنجیره ای بوده است.
