On Sunday, January 21, 2024, Hossein Yohanna Shabani, a Christian convert residing in Fardis, a suburb of Karaj in Alborz Province, was released on bail of 300 million tomans after being summoned to Branch 2 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Fardis, undergoing interrogation, and being formally charged. به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران به نقل از ماده ۱۸، روز یکشنبه ۱ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۲، حسین یوحنا شعبانی، نوکیش مسیحی، ساکن شهرک فردیس از توابع کرج مرکز استان البرز، پس از احضار به شعبه ۲ بازپرسی دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب فردیس و طی مراحل بازپرسی و تفهیم اتهام با تودیع قرار وثیقه ای به مبلغ ۳۰۰ میلیون تومان، آزاد شد. این دگراندیش مذهبی۷ در دی ماه سال جاری توسط ماموران وزارت اطلاعات تحت بازجویی قرار گرفته و پرونده وی برای تفهیم اتهام به این شعبه بازپرسی ارسال شده بود.
براساس این گزارش، اتهام تفهیم شده به حسین یوحنا شعبانی، در مرحله بازپرسی تبلیغ علیه نظام از طریق فعالیت آموزشی و یا تبلیغی انحرافی مغایر با شرع مقدس اسلام از طریق طرح ادعاهای واهی و کذب در حوزه های دینی عنوان شده است.
لازم به اشاره است، حسین یوحنا شعبانی، در تاریخ ۱۸ دی ماه ۱۴۰۲ پس از احضار به اداره نظارت و پیگیری وزارت اطلاعات در شهر کرج و سه ساعت بازجویی و تشکیل پرونده قضایی در تاریخ ۲۶ دی ماه ۱۴۰۲، با دریافت ابلاغیه ای از طریق سامانه ابلاغ الکترونیک قوه قضائیه ثنا به شعبه ۲ بازپرسی دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب فردیس کرج احضار شده بود.
