Seyed Meysam Mousavi

Seyed Meysam Mousavi, a 31-year-old Arab resident of Parand, Tehran province, was returning home around midnight on Thursday, January 8, 2026, when he was targeted by direct fire from pellet and live bullets by security forces of the Islamic Republic from atop the Parand shopping center. He was severely injured and succumbed to his injuries and blood loss at the hospital the following day, January 9.

Meysam was married and the father of a seven-year-old daughter. He owned a furniture store in Parand, which he had closed in solidarity with the merchants' strike during the protests of January 2026.

Sources reported that a bullet pierced his thigh, another passed through his waist, and the lower part of his body was severely hit by pellets. Neighbors found his injured body and informed his family.

Out of fear of arrest, Meysam's family kept him at home until morning and then took him to a private hospital. After surgery, he regained consciousness and asked to see his daughter, but he passed away before he could.

Seyed Meysam Mousavi was buried in Behesht Rezvan, Parand.

Parand is located 33 kilometers southwest of Tehran, in the Robat Karim county. In recent years, many Arab families from the Ahvaz region of Khuzestan have migrated to this city due to environmental issues and in search of employment.
