A Kurdish citizen from Qorveh and one of the detainees from the protests in January last year was sentenced by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran to one year of imprisonment and 31 lashes.
A resident of Qorveh, who is a local tradesperson, was arrested by government forces during public protests in December 2025. The arrest was due to their participation in market traders' strikes and the protests in the city. The individual was later released on bail temporarily until the completion of legal proceedings.
