On 22 November 2022, Ribaz Salehivand, a 21 years old resident of Mahabad, was severely injured during public protests in the city near the village of Haji Mamian. While riding a motorcycle with a friend, he was targeted by government forces with over a hundred pellet shots. He succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
Following Ribaz's passing, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps blocked the entrance to Mahabad, preventing his burial in the city's Bagh Ferdows. Consequently, the family had to lay him to rest in the cemetery of the village of Yusef Kand, a few kilometres from Mahabad.
He was a skilled construction rebar worker and had an interest in tattoo artistry.
در تاریخ اول آذر ۱۴۰۱، ریباز صالحی وند اهل مهاباد در جریان اعتراضات مردمی این شهر در نزدیکی روستای حاجی مامیان، در حالی که همراه دوستش سوار بر موتور بود، از سوی نیروهای حکومتی هدف شلیک بیش از صد گلوله ساچمه ای قرار گرفت و به شدت زخمی شد. وی پس از چند ساعت در نتیجه شدت جراحات جان باخت.
پس از جان باختن ریباز، نیروهای سپاه پاسداران با محاصره ورودی شهر مهاباد از دفن وی در باغ فردوس این شهر جلوگیری کردند و خانواده مجبور شدند پیکر او را در قبرستان روستای یوسف کند در چند کیلومتری مهاباد به خاک بسپارند.
او استادکار آرماتوربند ساختمان بود و به شغل تتوکاری نیز علاقه مند بود.
