Amir Heshmati was shot in the leg with live ammunition in the 45-meter district of Golshahr, Karaj, and died from severe bleeding.
According to a source close to the family, after being shot, Amir was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries due to severe bleeding.
He was described as a very family-oriented person who took care of his parents and had a deep emotional bond with his sister's child.
The family reportedly faced pressure from security forces when receiving Amir's body.
Security forces initially did not allow them to bury him in Karaj and told the family to transfer the body to another city or location. Ultimately, he was buried in Behesht Ali, Eshtehard, despite the family's lack of connection to the area, which they perceived as a form of coercion.
Additionally, according to close sources, the time for handing over the body was announced suddenly and without prior notice. The family was told that if they did not come to receive the body that day, another time might not be specified. The family viewed this as pressure to expedite the burial and prevent a larger gathering.

امیر حشمتی در محدوده ۴۵ متری گلشهر کرج با اصابت گلوله جنگی به ناحیه پا هدف قرار گرفت و بر اثر خونریزی شدید جان خود را از دست داد.
به گفته یک فرد نزدیک به خانواده امیر را پس از اصابت گلوله او به بیمارستان منتقل کردند اما به دلیل خونریزی شدید جان باخته است.
«او فردی بسیار خانواده دوست بود و از پدر و مادرش مراقبت می کرد. وابستگی عاطفی عمیقی میان او و فرزند خواهرش وجود داشت.»
به گفته این منبع خانواده هنگام تحویل پیکر امیر با فشار نیروهای امنیتی مواجه بودند.
نیروهای امنیتی ابتدا به آنها اجازه خاکسپاری در کرج را ندادند و از خانواده گفته بودند که پیکر را به شهرستان یا محل دیگری منتقل کنند. در نهایت او در بهشت علی اشتهارد به خاک سپرده شد؛ در حالی که خانواده ارتباطی با آن منطقه نداشتند و این موضوع را نوعی اجبار تلقی می کنند.
