Mohammad Abdollahi was abducted in front of the governor's office during events in Ilam on 12 October 2022. It has been reported that he died under torture on 13 October.
At 1:30 am on 13 October 2022, his father received a call stating that Mohammad had been injured and was hospitalised at Khomeini Hospital. When his family arrived at the hospital, officials informed them that no such person was admitted. An hour later, his father was contacted again and informed of Mohammad's death. The family was instructed to collect his body from the Behesht Reza cemetery morgue at 9 am. The family was threatened, and his father was compelled to sign a written statement declaring the death as natural. Upon receiving the body, bruises were observed all over, and his head had been injured due to multiple blows. His body was buried at Behesht Reza cemetery on 13 October under security measures.
محمد عبداللهی در جریان رویدادهای ایلام در تاریخ 20 مهر 1401 در مقابل ساختمان فرمانداری ربوده شد. گزارش شده است که او در تاریخ 21 مهر تحت شکنجه جان باخت.
در ساعت 1:30 بامداد روز 21 مهر 1401، با پدر او تماس گرفته شد و اعلام شد که محمد مجروح شده و در بیمارستان خمینی بستری است. خانواده او به بیمارستان مراجعه کردند، اما مسئولین بیمارستان اعلام کردند که چنین فردی بستری نیست. پس از یک ساعت، دوباره با پدر او تماس گرفته شد و خبر فوت محمد اعلام شد. به خانواده او گفته شد که ساعت 9 صبح پیکر او را از سردخانه آرامستان بهشت رضا تحویل بگیرند. خانواده تهدید شدند و از پدر او تعهد کتبی گرفته شد که مرگ او را طبیعی اعلام کنند. در زمان تحویل پیکر، آثار کبودی در تمام بدن او مشاهده شد و سر او به دلیل ضربات متعدد دچار جراحت شده بود. پیکر او در تاریخ 21 مهر در آرامستان بهشت رضا تحت تدابیر امنیتی به خاک سپرده شد.
