سجاد شاقلانی در تاریخ ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در منطقه الوند قزوین به دلیل اصابت گلوله به سر توسط نیروهای امنیتی کشته شد. وی به تازگی دوران سربازی خود را به پایان رسانده بود و از ورزشکاران این منطقه محسوب می شد. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که برای تحویل پیکر وی مبلغی در حدود ۷۰۰ میلیون تومان از خانواده اش مطالبه شده و خانواده تحت فشار قرار دارند.
