Ahmadreza Djalali, an Iranian-Swedish physician and researcher in crisis management and emergency situations, has been sentenced to death on charges of espionage for Israel. He remains at risk of the sentence being carried out. He was arrested in May 2016 during an academic visit to Iran while driving.
