Majid Ivani entered university to study English. Six months after his marriage, he was arrested and subjected to torture.
During interrogation, the severity of the torture was such that, after a few days, Comrade Majid's semi-conscious body was taken on a stretcher to the Evin infirmary. He was sentenced to death. In 1987, his death sentence was commuted to 15 years in prison.
Majid continued his struggle even while in prison. He was held at Gohardasht Prison during the 1988 massacre of political prisoners, when he was executed.He was buried in Khavaran Cemetery.
