Mohammad Azizi, a wrestler from Dezful, was arrested on 25 January 2026 by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. During the arrest, he reportedly resisted and refused to cooperate with the authorities. In the course of this confrontation, he sustained injuries and was subsequently taken away by the officers.
Mohammad Azizi is being held at the IRGC detention center in Ahvaz, and there have been reports of torture. His family has been informed that his fingernails have been pulled out, and the authorities are allegedly attempting to extract a forced confession from him.
