Before his arrest, Ali Doraghi was requested via a phone call to report to the news headquarters, and a summons was also sent to him by the court. However, due to a heart condition and a history of heart surgery, he was unable to attend these institutions.
Ali Doraghi had previously experienced arrest, summons, and approximately five years of imprisonment due to his cultural and political activities. In 2024, he was arrested on charges such as "propaganda against the regime" and "insulting the leadership." After being tried in the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court, he was temporarily released on bail.
پیش از بازداشت طی تماس تلفنی از این شاعر خواسته شده بود به ستاد خبری مراجعه کند و احضاریه ای نیز از سوی دادگاه برای او ارسال شده بود، اما علی دورقی به دلیل ابتلا به بیماری قلبی و سابقه جراحی قلب قادر به حضور در این نهادها نبوده است.
علی دورقی پیش تر نیز سابقه بازداشت، احضار و تحمل حدود ۵ سال حبس را به دلیل فعالیت های فرهنگی و سیاسی داشته است. وی در سال ۱۴۰۳ نیز بابت اتهاماتی همچون «تبلیغ علیه نظام» و «توهین به رهبری» بازداشت و پس از محاکمه در دادگاه انقلاب اهواز با قرار وثیقه موقتاً آزاد شده بود.
