Military and security forces conducted a raid on the workplace of a former prisoner in Zahedan, resulting in his arrest. On 17 August 2026, these forces entered the shop of a Baloch individual on Kosar Street, Zahedan, and detained him. The hard drives of the shop's surveillance cameras were also confiscated by the forces.
The individual has been identified as Alireza Barahouei (Shikardeg), son of Hossein, and a resident of Zahedan. Several days after the arrest, his family remains unaware of his condition and whereabouts.
Alireza Barahouei had previously been arrested on charges of "disturbance" following an incident in Zahedan on 30 September 2022. He was sentenced to one and a half years in prison and was released on bail after serving approximately one year of his sentence.
