Vahid Shieh Zadeh

Vahid Shia Zadeh, a citizen from Shiraz and a sports coach, was killed during protests in Maali Abad, Shiraz, on 7 October 2022. Initially, his family reported his death as an accident, but later stated that he died from a gunshot wound.

Reports indicate that Vahid Shia Zadeh's mother has provided new details about the circumstances of her son's death. She stated that he was shot while getting out of his car to find a mechanic amidst the crowded Maali Abad area on his way home.

It has also been reported that upon visiting the hospital, Vahid Shia Zadeh's mother faced a lack of response and was advised that the body would be released if she accepted the accident as the cause of death. She further claimed that a fee was requested for the release of the body.

The death certificate of Vahid Shia Zadeh lists the cause of death as "unknown." His mother attributes this to pressure and threats from security agencies. She also mentioned that these pressures continued even after her son's burial, with requests to alter the date on his grave.

Vahid Shia Zadeh was a sports coach and a medalist in domestic and international billiards competitions.
