A citizen and his half-brother were arrested at their home. Mehran spent the first three months of his detention in complete isolation, without any contact with his relatives.
During the security forces' raid on their home to arrest them, Mehran attempted to escape and pushed one of the officers down the stairs, resulting in a brain injury for the officer.
During his detention, Mehran Seyedzadeh was reportedly subjected to torture to extract forced confessions, resulting in a broken right hand and two broken teeth. He was also denied access to legal representation.

قابل ذکر است که، حین هجوم نیروهای امنیتی به منزل ابن دو شهروند جهت بازداشت آنان، مهران هنگام تلاش برای فرار یکی از نیروها را از پله ها به سمت پایین هل داد که به ضربه مغزی شدن وی انجامید.
مهران سیدزاده طی دوران بازداشت جهت اخذ اعترافات اجباری تحت شکنجه قرار گرفته و دست راست و دو دندان وی توسط نیروهای حکومتی شکسته بود.وی هم چنین از دسترسی به وکیل محروم بود.
