On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Shiva Kashani Nejad (Samian), a Baha'i citizen residing in Rasht, Gilan province, was arrested by security forces after her home was searched and some of her personal belongings were confiscated. She was then taken to an undisclosed location.
Security forces, simultaneously with the arrest of Ms. Kashani Nejad (Samian), raided her home and conducted a search, confiscating items such as a mobile phone, religious books related to the Baha'i faith, and officially licensed storybooks belonging to her grandchild.
As of the time of this report, there is no information about her whereabouts, the security agency responsible for the arrest, the legal basis for the charges, or the exact reason for Shiva Kashani Nejad's arrest.
It is noteworthy that Shiva Kashani Nejad (Samian) was arrested and subjected to judicial proceedings by security forces while, on June 13, 2023, her daughter Anisa Samian and her husband Vesal Memtazi were sentenced by Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court in Rasht. They faced charges of "propaganda against the regime," "educational activities and promoting beliefs contrary to Islamic law," "insulting the leadership," and "insulting Islamic sanctities," resulting in a total of 9 years, 6 months, and 4 days of imprisonment. Additionally, Anisa Samian was fined and deprived of the right to membership in political, social, and cultural parties, groups, and organizations.
Anisa Samian is a well-known piano instructor in Rasht.
Baha'i citizens are deprived of all civil rights according to a directive by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, approved on February 25, 1991, and face various human rights violations and coercive actions by the Islamic Republic government.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز چهارشنبه ۲۸ تیر ماه ۱۴۰۲، شیوا کاشانی نژاد(سمیعیان)، شهروند بهائی، ساکن شهر رشت مرکز استان گیلان، پس از تفتیش منزل و توقیف برخی لوازم شخصی اش، توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت و به مکان نامعلومی منتقل شد.
به نقل از یک منبع مطلع در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران:”ماموران امنیتی همزمان با بازداشت خانم کاشانی نژاد(سمیعیان)، با یورس به منزل این شهروند بهایی و تفتیش، سپس برخی لوازم از قبیل گوشی تلفن همراه، کتابهای مذهبی مرتبط با دیانت بهایی، کتابهای داستان دارای مجوز رسمی کشور(مربوط به پندار ـ نوه این شهروند بهایی) را توقیف کردند.”
تا لحظه تنظیم این خبر، از مکان نگهداری، نام ارگان امنیتی بازداشت کننده، مصادیق حقوقی اتهامات و علت دقیق بازداشت شیوا کاشانی نژاد(سمیعیان)، اطلاعی حاصل نشده است.
لازم به اشاره است، در حالی شیوا کاشانی نژاد(سمیعیان)، توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت و در معرض پرونده سازی قضایی قرار گرفته که پیش از این و در تاریخ ۲۳ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، آنیسا سمیعیان ـ فرزند این شهروند بهایی به همراه همسر خود وصال ممتازی، توسط شعبه ۳ دادگاه انقلاب رشت، از بابت اتهامات(فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام)، (فعالیت آموزشی و تبلیغ انحرافی مغایر با شرع مقدس اسلام)، (توهین به رهبری) و (توهین به مقدسات اسلامی)، در مجموع به تحمل ۹ سال و ۶ ماه و ۴ روز حبس تعزیری و محکوم ولی انیسا سمیعیان، علاوه بر حبس به پرداخت جزای نقدی و محرومیت از حق عضویت در احزاب، گروهها و دسته جات سیاسی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی، نیز محکوم شدند.
آنیسا سمیعیان، از مربیان سرشناس در زمینه آموزش پیانو در شهر رشت است.
شهروندان بهائی با طبق به بخشنامه شورای عالی انقلاب فرهنگی مصوب ۶ اسفند ۱۳۶۹ از هرگونه حقوق شهروندی محروم هستند و از سوی حکومت جمهوری اسلامی با انواع و اقسام موارد نقض حقوق بشر و اعمال رفتارهای قهرآمیز روبرو هستند.
