Erfan was fatally shot twice in the chest at Aryashahr Square in Tehran. It has been reported that he was in the area near the intersection of Ferdows Boulevard and Kashani Boulevard, where a video was circulated on social media showing forces announcing they had orders to shoot and were firing at people.
After the shooting, Erfan moved towards the northern side of Kashani Boulevard near Ibn Sina Hospital and became separated from his companions. Some reports indicate that he was assisting the injured in that area and attempting to push back the forces to create a path for aid. During this time, he was struck by two bullets in the chest and fell to the ground.
One of his friends, with the help of another individual, tried to pull him back, but further shooting occurred, causing the helper to flee. Once the situation calmed, his friend managed to get Erfan to the southern side of the boulevard, and with the assistance of several others, he was transported to Ibn Sina Hospital.
Erfan had a keen interest in football and, three years ago, had opened a café-restaurant with a relative. Initially a barista, he later learned cooking and became the chef of the establishment. He was fluent in English and had a passion for cooking and football.
Erfan also enjoyed music and reading, and in recent months, he had developed an interest in the Shahnameh. He was known for engaging in thoughtful discussions on political and social issues and had spoken with his relatives about the protest call before leaving.
His family and friends have expressed that Erfan consciously chose his path and they respect his choices and perspective.
عرفان در میدان آریاشهر تهران با اصابت دو گلوله به سینه کشته شد. گزارش شده است که او در محدوده دوراهی بلوار فردوس و بلوار کاشانی حضور داشت؛ همان جایی که ویدیویی در فضای مجازی منتشر شد و در آن نیروها اعلام می کردند که حکم تیر دارند و به سمت مردم تیراندازی می کردند.
پس از تیراندازی، عرفان به سمت ضلع شمالی بلوار کاشانی حوالی بیمارستان ابن سینا رفت و از همراهانش جدا شد. برخی گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که او در همان محدوده به زخمی ها کمک می کرد و تلاش داشت نیروها را عقب براند تا راهی برای امدادرسانی باز شود. در همین حین، دو گلوله به سینه اش اصابت کرد و بر زمین افتاد.
یکی از دوستانش با کمک فردی دیگر سعی کردند او را عقب بکشند، اما دوباره تیراندازی شد و آن فرد گریخت. پس از آرام تر شدن فضا، دوستش عرفان را به ضلع جنوبی بلوار رساند و با کمک چند نفر دیگر او را به بیمارستان ابن سینا منتقل کردند.
عرفان به فوتبال علاقه مند بود و سه سال پیش همراه یکی از نزدیکانش کافه رستورانی راه اندازی کرده بودند. او ابتدا باریستا بود و سپس آشپزی یاد گرفت و به آشپز مجموعه تبدیل شد. او به زبان انگلیسی مسلط بود و به آشپزی و فوتبال علاقه داشت.
عرفان به موسیقی و کتاب خوانی علاقه مند بود و در ماه های آخر به شاهنامه علاقه مند شده بود. در گفت وگوهای سیاسی و اجتماعی اهل فکر و بحث بود و پیش از رفتن درباره فراخوان اعتراض با نزدیکانش صحبت کرده بود.
خانواده و دوستانش می گویند که او مسیرش را آگاهانه انتخاب کرد و به انتخاب و نگاهش احترام می گذارند.
