Majid Pourrostami was arrested in Tehran during the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement in 2022 when he intervened to assist a woman. He spent five months in prison, where he was reportedly subjected to torture.
He returned to the streets in January 2026 and was ultimately shot in the chest by regime forces at Ghalandari Square in Qarchak on 8 January 2026, resulting in his death.
He worked as a laborer and was known for his love of animals.
