The execution of three Kurdish political prisoners from Urmia, who were sentenced to death in winter 2022 for alleged involvement in espionage activities in favour of Israel, was carried out on 28 December 2023 at Urmia Central Prison. Additionally, the execution of Nasim Namazi, a Turkish political prisoner from Urmia, took place on 29 December 2023 in the same prison.
Following the executions, it has been reported that Iranian authorities refused to hand over the bodies of the three Kurdish political prisoners to their families and did not permit any mourning or memorial ceremonies to be held in mosques or homes.
Reports indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps exerted pressure on the families of these four political prisoners, stating that they could only view footage of the burial ceremonies with approval from higher authorities. The families were also warned against pursuing information about the burial locations.
Furthermore, a report has emerged suggesting that Aram Omari Berdiani, a prisoner sentenced to death in Urmia Prison, was coerced into confessing to collaboration with Israel under torture. He reportedly stated that he was unaware of what Mossad was and had requested the interrogators to show him a picture of Mossad to determine if he recognised it. According to Aram Omari, he was held in solitary confinement for months under torture, and intelligence officers threatened to kill his family and child.
حکم اعدام سه زندانی سیاسی کرد اهل ارومیه که در زمستان سال 1401 به اتهام مشارکت در همکاری اطلاعاتی و جاسوسی به نفع اسرائیل به اعدام محکوم شده بودند، در تاریخ 7 دی 1402 در زندان مرکزی ارومیه اجرا شد. همچنین، حکم اعدام نسیم نمازی، زندانی سیاسی ترک اهل ارومیه، در تاریخ 8 دی 1402 در همین زندان به اجرا درآمد.
پس از اجرای حکم اعدام، گزارش شده است که مقامات ایرانی از تحویل جنازه های این سه زندانی سیاسی کرد به خانواده هایشان خودداری کرده و اجازه برگزاری هرگونه مراسم عزاداری یا یادبود را در مسجد یا منزل به آن ها نداده اند.
گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که اطلاعات سپاه پاسداران با اعمال فشار بر خانواده های این چهار زندانی سیاسی اعلام کرده است که تنها در صورت تأیید مقامات بالا می توانند فیلم مراسم خاکسپاری را به خانواده ها نشان دهند و نسبت به هرگونه پیگیری محل دفن آن ها هشدار داده اند.
همچنین، گزارشی منتشر شده که حاکی از آن است که آرام عمری بردیانی، زندانی محکوم به اعدام در زندان ارومیه، تحت شکنجه وادار به اعتراف به همکاری با اسرائیل شده است. او بیان کرده که حتی نمی دانسته موساد چیست و از بازجوها خواسته که عکس موساد را به او نشان دهند تا مشخص شود آیا او را می شناسد یا نه. به گفته آرام عمری، او ماه ها در انفرادی تحت شکنجه بوده و مأموران اطلاعات او را تهدید به کشتن خانواده و فرزندش کرده اند.
