Zahra Azadpour, a player in the Iranian Women's Football League and a member of the Mehrgan Pardis Tehran team, passed away after being shot during protests in Karaj. The incident occurred on 9 January 2026. Azadpour had previously played for the Azarakhsh and Saba teams and had been invited to training camps for the Iranian women's national football team.
It has been reported that Zahra Azadpour was killed by gunfire during the protests in Karaj. In addition to her football career, she was considered a professional mountaineer in Iran, having climbed Damavand and Spilet peaks. Her family found her body after three days of searching and uncertainty, and she was subsequently buried in Eslamshahr.

گزارش شده است که زهرا آزادپور در اعتراضات کرج با شلیک گلوله کشته شده است.
او علاوه بر فوتبال، از کوهنوردهای حرفه ای ایران نیز محسوب می شد و قله های دماوند و اسپیلت را فتح کرده بود. خانواده او پس از سه روز جست وجو و بی خبری، موفق به پیدا کردن پیکرش شدند و سپس در اسلامشهر به خاک سپرده شد.
