On 18 January 2026, Mohammad Rezaei, was transferred to Aria Hospital in Rasht after sustaining a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The family was informed that he had been bandaged and would be discharged. However, on Friday, he experienced bleeding, as the bullet had not been removed. Due to an infection, he passed away three days later on 21 January. The coroner stated that no surgery had been performed and that there was no permission for an operation.
