On the morning of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, Hassan (Amirali) Roodgar was arrested after appearing before the Nowshahr Enforcement of Judgments Branch to begin serving his one-and-a-half-year prison sentence. He was subsequently transferred to the prison in this county.

A source close to the family of this citizen, while confirming the report, said: “In June 2026, Mr. Roodgar was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Tonekabon to four and a half years in prison on charges including ‘membership in groups opposed to the country, disrupting national security, and propaganda against the system.’ Following Mr. Roodgar’s request for a retrial in absentia, the sentence was reduced to one and a half years of discretionary imprisonment.”

Hassan Roodgar was also sentenced in April 2026 by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court Two of Nowshahr County to five months of discretionary imprisonment and 50 lashes for the charge of disturbing public order and public peace. Following his request for a retrial in absentia, he was acquitted of the charge by the same judicial branch.

Hassan (Amirali) Roodgar was arrested by security forces in the city of Nowshahr on January 26, 2026, and was transferred to the city’s prison 15 days later. He was ultimately released from the prison in early March 2026 after posting bail of five billion tomans. He is a resident of Nowshahr.
