Mostafa Chandfandeh, a 23-year-old resident of Chabahar, was arrested on Friday, January 9, 2026, during the crackdown on public protests after Friday prayers in Chabahar. He was on his way to work on his motorcycle when security forces, without presenting a judicial warrant or informing him of any charges, detained him and transferred him to an unknown location.
Sources added that this Baloch citizen worked as a tailor in the Chabahar market and was not involved in any protest activity at the time of his arrest; he was merely on his way to his tailoring shop.
Relatives of Mostafa Chandfandeh reported during a family visit that he clearly stated he was "innocently" arrested and had no role in the protests. They mentioned that after his arrest, he was pressured to declare participation in the protests, but he consistently maintained during interrogations and in court that he was merely passing through the area on his way to work when he was detained.
The family says that despite a month having passed since the arrest, every time they visit the court to follow up on the case, they receive contradictory responses. At one point, they are told the case is in Zahedan, and at another, it is "under review," without any clear judicial decision, formal charges, or a definitive timeline being communicated.

منابع در ادامه افزوده اند: «این شهروند بلوچ شغل خیاطی داشته و به عنوان خیاط در بازار چابهار مشغول به کار بوده و در زمان بازداشت هیچ گونه فعالیت اعتراضی نداشته و صرفاً در حال رفتن به مغازه خیاطی خود بوده است.»
به گفته بستگان مصطفی چندفنده در ملاقات حضوری با خانواده وی به صراحت اعلام کرده که «بی گناه» بازداشت شده و هیچ نقشی در اعتراضات نداشته است. به گفته بستگان پس از بازداشت تحت فشار از او خواسته اند که اعلام کند در اعتراضات شرکت داشته اما او هم در بازجویی ها و هم در دادگاه تاکید کرده که صرفاً یک رهگذر بوده و در حال عبور از محل برای رفتن به محل کار خود بازداشت شده است.
بستگان می گویند با وجود گذشت یک ماه از بازداشت هر بار که خانواده برای پیگیری وضعیت پرونده به دادگاه مراجعه می کنند پاسخ های متناقضی دریافت می کنند؛ یک بار گفته می شود پرونده در زاهدان است بار دیگر اعلام می شود «در حال بررسی» است بدون آن که هیچ تصمیم قضایی مشخص تفهیم اتهام رسمی یا زمان روشنی برای تعیین تکلیف اعلام شود.
