On Monday 5th Aban 1404 (27th October 2025), he went on a #
hunger strike to protest the lack of medical attention and the authorities' disregard for his poor physical condition. Mr. Naqvi continues to be deprived of the opportunity to meet with his family.
The Sixth Branch of the Disciplinary Court of the Center for Lawyers, Experts, and Family Counselors of the Judiciary has suspended the law license of Mr Taher Naqvi, an imprisoned lawyer in Evin Prison.
The conviction and additional punishments of Mr Taher Naghavi, a lawyer imprisoned in Evin Prison, were confirmed by Branch 36 of the Tehran Provincial Court of Appeal.
He started a hunger strike. This action was taken after a conflict with one of the prison officers and pressure and threats from him.
He was sentenced to 6 years in prison by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. Mr. Naghavi has also been sentenced to a two-year ban on leaving the country and a ban on membership in political parties.
A lawyer, despite the passage of 200 days since his arrest, he is still being held in Evin prison in an indefinite manner. Also, he has health issues and is denied proper medical treatment.
The court hearing on charges against him was held in the 15th branch of Tehran Revolutionary Court.
A lawyer, despite the passage of 149 days from the time of arrest, he is still being held in an indeterminate manner in Evin prison. Recently, he has faced a complaint from the prison authorities by opening a new case against him.
He spends the fourteenth day of his hunger strike in Evin prison. He went on strike from the 24th of Khordad 1403 (13th June 2024) protesting his continued detention and indecision.
